The potato season

How a potato crop generally moves through the year. For this farm's own timing, contact Judah's Potatoes.

The potato year

This is how potato growing generally runs. Timing varies with weather and location, so ask the farm for its own dates.

  1. Planting

Seed potatoes go into the ground, usually in ridged rows.

  2. Growing

Leafy plants fill the rows while potatoes form below the surface.

  3. Lifting

When the crop is ready, the plants are lifted and the potatoes dug out.

  4. Storing

Harvested potatoes are kept somewhere cool and dark.
